Viewing and Selecting Number Plate Results
- Sold
- Never made available
- Possibly available in the future
Clicking on any of the number plates in the 'Not for sale' list displays this popup information box.
In many cases there's no way for Regfinder to know whether a number plate has been sold or was ever available.
Future number plates will also be displayed in the ‘Not for Sale’ column until they become available to buy. If you see one you like, click on it to view the Possible Availability date.
In very special cases the DVLA reserve registrations for ‘Future Auction’.
You can find details of these plates and auctions dates on the DVLA website. http://www.dvlaregistrations.co.uk/home/en/Informed/
Available to buy
The ‘Available to buy’ column shows all of the number plates you can buy now.
In cases where it’s possible for a search word to be in the same position on a range of number plates you are shown the number of plates in the range and their lowest and highest prices on the right hand side of the plate. Where there is only one plate in the range you are shown just the price.
Clicking on a range of plates displays a popup information box showing more information about the range selected including any plates that have been sold in that range if Regfinder knows about them.
To view all the number plates in the range click on the 'View all these plates' button at the bottom of the information box. The 'Available to buy' list now displays all the number plates in that range (see below).
Each number plate has the DVLA price displayed on the right hand side.
When viewing a range of plates a button appears at the bottom of the list that allows you to go back to the list of Available to buy search results.
The range list can sometimes be quite long, sometimes containing thousands of number plates, in this case Regfinder will present the number plates in
pages. The bottom of the list switches to paging mode (see right) in order that you can select and view the pages of number plates. In order to select a page drag the slider bar to the page you want to view then press the 'GO' button. You can see in ths example that there are a total of 513 number plates in that range, each page displays 255 plates so there are 3 pages of plates to view.
If you decide that you'd like to buy a number plate, just click on it, the familiar popup information box appears to the right of the number plate (see left). Click on 'Order This Plate' you will automatically be taken to the DVLA Registration web page for that number plate. At this point please take note of the notice in red regarding misrepresentation of number plates.
To process your number plate order just click on the 'BUY NOW' button.
