Welcome to ReGiCIDE the Number Plate Dictionary
ReGiCIDE is a Regfinder side project which combines Regfinder's own number plate search engine dictionary with the Open Source GCIDE dictionary. GCIDE is the GNU version of the Collaborative International Dictionary of English.
Why? We thought it would be neat if it was possible to look at number plates in the context of an English Dictionary, so each word can be searched and indexed 'Wikipedia' style as well as incorporating Regfinder's unique number plate word categories.
So as well as having categorised number plate words you can also search alphabetically.
Some ReGiCIDE words will not have a dictionary entry however, this is because Regfinder's number plate dictionary contains many words that don't appear in a normal English dictionary, for example people's names, vehicle models and slang words. Unless of course we've decided to add some! You can however view extra information such as how many number plates are available to buy which contain the words, the highest and lowest priced number plates, a visual representation of the word and where possible the number of plates sold and how much they sold for.
Please Note: ReGiCIDE does not currently display cherished number plates you can buy, just references to the words that can create the number plates. You'll need to use the Regfinder search facility to see those.

Over time we hope to expand ReGiCIDE to also hold a history of UK number plates applied to vehicles, ambitious, but possible! Watch this space!
